today has been a slow day at the palace. been watching movies all day.. except for 2 hours when i took a short break in the park and at Woolworths.. but that shall soon be changed, i'm going to Kikki K for a training thing at 6. after that sarah is coming over here for a sleep over. :) nice nice nice.
oh btw. last night when I was getting ready to go to bed I discovered a HUGE cockroach in the bathroom cabinet. luckily I bought some spray 2 weeks ago so I could defend myself.. went a bit crazy with the spray though.. but the little sucker wouldn't die!.. might have to buy a new toothbrush. all is well now.. he's dead and Cj tossed him out the window. : louise/cj - 1, Cockroach - 0. mohahahahaha
oh btw 2: I got a little package today! :D nicole the little angel sent me some Swedish candy! and seriously the most awesome mix! thank you chocolate, highly appreciated!! I have almost managed to eat it all.. I was bored and I didn't have the energy to make something for lunch AND i was watching movies. I took a picture of it before i ate it .. will put it up here on the blog later so you'll see how creative nicole aka the best live-apart-for-a-few-months-roommate-in-the-world was.

what a day! my god! started off pretty good (for me) woke up my normal early time, facebooked for a while, fell back to sleep till antonio called and woke me up telling me that he's at the hospital - because he got hit by a car. I think : fine can't be that bad.. at last he's talking.. he said something about a broken collarbone. so i went to the hospital bought a sandwich and some cookies for him. i explained to the woman in the emergency room that my friend was there, said his name: antonio guerra. she smiled as she knew who i was talking about and let me in..
when i first saw him i was a bit chocked.. his face was a bit swollen and he had a terrible wound on his neck a long with other scratch wounds on his face.. he looked so depressed! poor guy!. he just started his new job yesterday and wont be able to work for at least 2 weeks ..will prob heal in like 6 - 8!! they stitched his neck up, we talked to a social worker and the police and then we could leave at 6 pm!. bought him some painkillers and ice cream.he was really lucky that it was just the collarbone and not anything else.. who knows what could have happened..the car was driving pretty fast .. around 45 km/h! weeeell well now i'm home.. long day, let's hope that tomorrow is only good news.

a day in the life. swedish version
woke up at 1. still in bed. well, i guess its allowed when youre sick. dont think i have any fever today though, maybe a little but not much. its more my throat that hurts and the all too familiar pain in my sinus, so i might get sinusitis, which i always get. well well, just deal with it. its the best way i guess.
so julian casablancas, the gorgeous singer from the strokes, is doing really well as a solo artist i must say. listen to him on spotify. very good. Phrazes for the young its called.and i just adore his voice, takes me back to junior high school when i was in love with the strokes and especially the drummer, fabrizio moretti, just the name makes your knees wobble. anyway, i think he was together with drew barrymore, hope they still are. i like her too.
so, today my family is babysitting a dog. his name is Putte. a Welsh Springer Spaniel, just like our dog Matilda was. i think hes pretty, havent seen him yet since ive been knocked out in my bed. my heavenly soft bed i might add, lou im bringing it. our two rocks for beds have to go. or we have to buy huge, soft mattresses to go on top and then maybe they are fine to sleep on.
today at 10 the Jimmy Choo for H&M was released. im sure theres nothing left, the mens collection was much better than the one for women so i dont really care anyway. but soo many good shoes for boys, a really really good pair of boots and then just really nice other ones.

woke up got out of bed at 7.. yes, you heard me. I just can't sleep in this crappy bed, could also be that the room is super light since we don't have any blinds. well, i don't mind waking up early if i'm not tired and today i'm not.. so hurray! been doing quite a lot this morning with more to come! i've been cleaning the room, it was a mess. i'm about to move on the the rest of the apartment.. might do the bathroom. and CJ if you're reading this (which i don't think you are...) you have to clean the kitchen.. which i will tell you when you get home. hihihi.. well the bathroom is disgusting.. so it's not really a fair trade ..for me.. but i can't stand it anymore so i'm gonna do the good and nice thing and just clean it.. bravo louise. :)

so in contrast to louises happy, summery post i thought i should tell you how i spent my day in the 2,5 degrees, rainy place called särö, i live in. i woke up, the first night ive actually slept well and didn't wake up until 9.43. so nice. god, i love my bed. then i got up, ate egg for breakfast and then i hung out with my sick sister. we planned the trip. the whole familys coming to sydney january 5-21 so we planned that. kims 25th birthday is on jan 11, so anyone of you who are in sydney are going to celebrate with us. since we all love ching a lings i thought this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce it to my darling sister.
after a couple of hours dying of boredom we decided to defy kims sickness and go to kungsbacka which is a small small small city/village about 15-20 mins from us. kungsbacka is a hidden fashion gem and you can never leave that place without having a couple of bags with you. today i brought home a great pair of boots, lou youre gonna love them, but they wont fit since my feet are huge and yours are not. and i also bought a very well needed jacket. from, lo and behold, lindex. however, the collection from which is from is made by a former acne designer so its very very pretty and i love it. i also found a great pair of suede wedge heeled boots, which im gonna buy sooner or later. jeez they were perfect! i want them i want them i want them!
oh, i also bought a little something for the best roomie in the world. sorry cj, this time its not you. but LOUISE ODELBERG, you have a little thing coming your way..nothing special. but always appreciated. i hope.
now i just got in from powerwalking in the rain. nice. at least theres no mount everest you have to climb here as it is around young st. its nice and flat, windy though and fucking freezing. 2,5 degrees is not healthy for anyone. i wore my "mellanstadie jacka" so i wasnt very cold and since im walking in the speed of light im never cold! just my ears. poor things.

it's summer weather in sydney. or at least i think it is since i haven't really been outside yet, but from what i can see from my bedroom window it looks like summer. so we're going to the beach - manly. try to get a tan, or something that can reduce the transparent ghost look that i got going on at the moment. not very pretty if you ask me. so... we (antonio, matt and I) are going to manly.

ooh yesterday i had the best sandwiches. i felt a bit rich so i bought pesto wchih resulted in egg and pesto sandwich and avocado and pesto s. lovely. i think i need to eat the rest of that bread today, i discovered a tiny dot of mold on one bread thingies, which i brushed of - as good as new. however might be a good idea to eat them all today! sandwich party at the palace! woop woop!

swine sister and art of the trench
i know i said i might keep you updated from sweden. well, since i dont have much to do here i will keep you more updated than ever before. great huh? and since lou has gone MIA, working working working, its on me to keep thepalaceonyoungst alive. i found this website that shows statistics on how many visitors we have here and actually theres quite a few. well not really but more than i thought anyway so i guess theres an interest in keeping it alive.
so today ive spent my day with my sick sister. shes got swineflu or something, she has all the symptoms. im sure ill get it too since she just got back from stockholm so i havent really "met" her baciller yet. now i have and im already getting a cold. thank you sister dear. anyway, we watched the hangover, again. ive seen it at least 10 times. then i went to my moms work and had a massage. its hard to be back.

anyway, for my daily visit to the sartorialist today i found a link to the art of the trench which is a collaboration between him, scott schuman, and burberry. hes been photographing 100 people all over the world wearing the burberry trench as a celebration to it. its really lovely and theres great photos, i think everyone should have a look at artofthetrench.com

insomnia
i can't sleep. i could yesterday but i sure can't today. i've waken up so many times tonight. now i've given up. it's almost 8am anyway. perfectly fine. today i'm helping out my mom in the garden and then we might be going to IKEA. don't know really what we're doing there but i need hangers, there's no left since my sister invaded all wardrobe space. my clothes are still in my suitcase, well some of it anyway, i found this thing to hang them on.
tonight kim comes home from stockholm too. i'm picking her up, and in the new car at that. my dad didn't let me drive it to the airport if i didn't have a driving lesson with him first. so i did yesterday, and i found a new feature that none of the others had found. after having owned the thing for more than 4 months. i gues my curiosity and love for pressing every button there is pays of sometimes hey.
today is fathers day too. don't forget that my swedes. kim got dad something from stockholm don't know what though. she's been staying in my apartment up there, with my ex-boyfriend marcus since he's still living there. funny, i called her yesterday and they were shopping for bedspreads at NK together haha well well that's an answer i thought i'd never get when asking her what she's doing. anyway, she went to a 25th birthday thing yesterday and was wearing a dress from whyred which i'm so going to steal. oh, and lou...her wardrobe would fit us perfectly, make some room for new things when i come down and i will try too steal as much as possible from her things. they're pretty good i have to say!
anyway, not much is happening here, as you might notice :) if there's anything you want me to bring back to you my darlings just let me know, i've already got some orders but keep 'em coming and i'll see what fits in my bag and what not. lou, should i take the Wii with me btw?

birthday marathon
hey friends.
as you all know it was my birhday this thursday... i had a lot of fun. started on wednesday with a crazy little birthday party at matts house with flamingo dancing and pyramid building.
thursday day was spent in bed watching entourage aka the best series ever made. thursday evening was a great one. petra made swedish meatballs, they were aaaamazing. so good. i had made a chocolate cake which we enjoyed with cookies and cream ice cream.
and yesterday e had a little one day late birthday picnic in ruchcutters bay park. it was a lot of fun and we managed to do the stockholm boogie pyramid one more time. i think we're getting better. nicole was there too, in the shape of a ballon, or three balloons actually. oh btw. since the park doesnät have any bbqs i went on what i though was gonna be a trouble free mission - to find a disposable bbq. it's impossible. i even tried to find a real one and that was impossible too. so after running around town like a crazy person i decided fakk the bbq and hello picninc. lovely sandwiches instead of stupid meat.
so after sitting in the park for a while it started raining and we went to josefins place had some drinks and watched her fish. lovely little thing.
went to ching-a-lings and then oxford art factory. it was a good night.
