22.9.10

hey

finally spring is coming along here, I'm so sick of winter. Yesterday I started the day off with a long walk in the botanical gardens, so nice and beautiful. We have production week now so I decided to do that everyday (already screwed that one up since I didnt today, but for good reasons though) but i'll defenitely do it tomorrow. So quite a lot has been happening in the little house on Yurong lately. Both Louise and myself got a spot in the internship program Billy Blue's running - Louise is with Interbrand and I'm with The Projects. So excited! It will happen during our holiday break from november-march.

Then today, our lovely lecturer from last semester Frankie took both of us aside for a projects she wanted us in on - we're going to design something (we've decided on a zine together I think) to be sold under The Design Kids name on the graduate exhibition later this year. It's only open for 6th semester students, but she wants us and two more - one of the two being Tim - the little boy who's resently stolen my heart - to design something as well. Very exciting!

Then not much else is happening, Louise, Tim and I hung out in Hyde park yesterday for some afternoon sun..ran into Ro and then we had to go rescue Thomas who'd locked himself out on their rooftop. Then we all went for a roadtrip to pick up Tim's van and then drive over to Caro, Toby and Jack's to get a fridge from them. They were given two fridges for free so they didnt really need theyre old one - so they gave it to us since our fridge is tiny for four people. So now we can actually fit all the enormous amounts of veggies and herbs Tim and his mum keeps giving us.

This morning, Tim and I were gonna go to the flower markets at 6am but that didn't happen, instead we planted some veggies and herbs in our backyard - we're now growing capsicum, chili, parsley and basil. yum - hopefully they'll live and grow strong. Tonight Louise and I filmed her title sequence, I filmed mine with Josefin yesterday - you'll might see the results if little blogger allows us to upload the files in the future.

A few days ago my manager and ass. manager made a little cardboard figure off me and Ashlea from work for a meeting they were going to with all teh crabtree & evelyn managers and people from NSW - we look beautiful (I'm to the right in the picture - fringe and all). Louise and I also went venturing to Paddys markets for some veggie shopping and Louise purchased the product of the year - a Dramaten! so pretty.

update

so we haven't updated the blog in a while.. but with good reason. Uni, uni, uni and illness.. everyone in the palace as had their time.. nnow it's my turn. i got a cold and it's very annoying. but what can you do.. i've bought heaps of oranges though so i'm eating a lot of vitamin c, which i've heard is good for you..

we're in week 8 now at uni.. which means less than half way left.. 6 weeks! in 2 weeks we got production week again .. it's insane how the time flies down here.

as you might know we had some troubles with the house: oven, door, dishwasher, toaster, hot water.. BUt it's all coming together now.. we already ticked the door and the oven off and tomorrow a person will come and fix the dishwasher and I think nicole is looking at a toaster as we speak. oh and the hot water got fixed monday which was a little bit of a relief after being forced to shower in cold water for 2-3 days.. but hey , at least we now know how the eskimos and other people with no hot water feel.

oh well back to studying.

glandular fever, tonsillitis, food poisoning, fever and little health herself

the little house on yurong st has this past week been turned into the sickhouse on yurong. it's kind of sad and lame. i got really sick on sunday night and after work on (my manager had me working aaaall day - despite several signs of me not being very well) i was even worse. tuesday morning i went to the doctor and she said she thought i had glandular fever (körtelfeber) - not a very happy result when in the middle of the semester and very far away from my mother to take care of me and my father to buy me 4-gott. "at least" she said - "you have severe tonsillitis" (halsfluss) - so she prescribed me the craziest penicillin cure - 4 x 500mg pills for 20 days.

then they had me taking bloodtests, the mean nurse just showed the needle into my arm and now its all bruised and ugly. i went back on thursday - no glandular :) apparently this little one's already had it so my body's already developed anti bodies and kicked its ass. still tonsillitis though. that does feel like kind of a victory anyhow. so here i am feeling so much better popping my penicillin pills and waiting to go fully recover, which i now think i have. maybe tomorrow. i've been very good - didn't go to caro's amazing birthday party last night, shich i really really really wanted to - instead i watched movies and ate lollies for dinner - because that's absolutely allowed when your little and sick - and tonight i'm not going to cara's housewarming either because i want to fully recover. i missed out on china heights on friday too, and go font ur self and monster children on thursday. well, for the coming 15 days i'll be health itself.

marcus got a bit sick to the other day, fever and a cold, but it went away after a day or so. josefin had tuna sallad at a friends birthday dinner and got food poisoned. louise - little healthy one - is the only one who hasn't been sick at all. she looked kind of freaked out when i told her both other two are a bit sick...well now we're all feeling better. even went out for breakfast at Safe House today. so good. josefin's in carlingford picking up her bike today very exciting - the first addition to the bike family. our's are on their way, we're not really focusing on that right now.

billy blue has granted me extension for all the assessments we've got due this week. i hate being behind but i haven't really been able to do anything about it. and i'm not working until next sunday - which is weird. and i won't get paid which is bad. but there's not much to do i guess...

spring is kind of on its way too - around the 20's mostly now, thursday was ridiculous over 25 (it's still winter here swedes :)

now i need to finish my style sheet for RAW.

sunshine day

ook, here it comes, the long waited for blog post. HOW exciting!
so the reason for our lack of posting is Billy Blue. He is just so selfish he just wants all the attention. BUt good news everybody after the week to come (w 6) we will have a little bit more time for stuff not related to that little silly boy.

ok so today i've been in rouse hill... where is that you might wonder.. well, I have no idea, or it might be mayeb south west of sydney kind of.. about an hour and a half with bus!! yes an hour and a HAlf. what did i do that far away?? well, my group and i was shooting our little film. just looked at the footage.. it might turn out fantastic OR the total opposite. time just have to tell, but we've done the first shoot now and so we can get some feedback and get back there again. today has been Lovely, 25 C and sunshine all day! a lovely lovely lovely day to spend in a shed on the country side with a dog and a kitten.

back to study.

28.7.10

hello

Sydney seems to be craving lots of water recently. It's been pouring down, and its cold and wet everywhere. Therefore I thought it'd be a good idea to cut a fringe. It will keep my forehead nice and warm but it will look crazy when its all curly whurly from all the rain that will land onto it. I look like I'm 5. But I'm fine with that, I want to be a kid forever. Just recently I asked my dad if we could go to Orlando, Florida and to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. He asked if I wasn't a bit too old for that. i said "Nej". Only the future can tell.

Apart from me cutting my fringe, Louise also cut her hair today. We also bought matching shoes the other day so we're slowly merging into one. we had our housewarming last saturday - it was amazing. cowboys and indians was the theme. Lou was a cowboy "Cherry Lou", Jos an indian "tumblesweede" and I was an indian too "Dancing with thunder" - Marcus was also an indian, but I don't know what his name was - he did have the most shiny black hair in his wig though so "Moonshine" maybe?

We've also gone back to school. Hectic already. We're making films, our major projects and all sorts of things - feels more like I'm doing Multimedia design than communication but hey, I need to know those things to. And so far so good.

These were all photos that lived from saturday. x

22.7.10

silly, very silly.

hello hello. I'm sitting drinking my sneaky imported cinnamon tea, in the dark, in josefins room, close to the heater, I'm kind of deep in that way. sometimes looking out the window to observe the lovely street named after yurong. pretty cold day in sydney but yet so warm. the air is filled with love from the little birds that know that the longed for spring will be here in just a minute, or at least by saturday... saturday would be nice.

ok
first week of uni is OOON! had three classes so far.. not sure what to think yet.. a lot of multimedia which doesn't really appeal to me as known from the previous semester BUT it's all gonna be in after effects which (after two basic classes) seems pretty straight forward. we also got a lot of stuff regarding our lovely and not to mention amazing major project... well the class we had today seems really good, we're gonna make a title film for a 2 min film (which we will make in an other class) and some posters and packaging around that. and heaps more!= good bye life.

Anyway,
since it is the first week of uni we're allowed to be a little bit lazy and enjoy having a little bit of a controlled/not freaking out mind, we're gonna go to a little birthday dinner tonight and josefin and I (since nic is working) will give Monster Children a little visit before for some free beer and other creative stuff.

oh great it's raining again! rain on little rain so that you don't have any left for satuday. Saturday is cowboys and indian party at the palace and we don't want no rain..

16.7.10

time has come

for some changes. they won't be happening today though. patience is essential here. the name needs to be changed. the layout of the blog as well. writers needs to be added and so on. one step is taken in the right direction though - internet. quite a significant step i'd say. so you can expect updates here much more frequently from now on.

holidays are over on tuesday. ridiculous how fast these holidays has gone by. so much has happened and yet it feels like i haven't done a thing. i've been working quite a lot - between 15-30 hours per week actually so not much for holidays for me. my mom is a bit upset about it. we've had beautiful cassie from SF visiting for a week and we had so much fun. she's coming back to work for AA (American Apparell) in january at the latest and might also become a Billy Bluer then as well. amazing.

yesterday lovely lou came back home. finally. i'm waiting for her and jos  to wake up so we can go for breakfast to the shop. muesli here i come. yum. i made a delicious strawberry jam the other day btw. oh so yum - nom nom nom. tonight's the snake party at thomson st and tomorrow warehouse party at the old chocolate factory. then next saturday we're having our housewarming finally - cowboys and indians is the chosen theme. ill be an indian - feathers and pearls in my hair. very excited.

now i can here rumbles from the other rooms. yes breakfast!

crayfish for everyone!

The crayfish party was amazing. We were at sofias little countryside/island house all saturday and sunday! with sill lunch, cinnamon buns and of course heaps of crayfish! :)
We swam around, fell around and sat in the hot hot hot little wood tub! I love crayfish, I love crayfish parties, love love love, puss puss puss. <3

here are the photos from the lovely little day(s):

5.7.10

thief

once again ive stolen josefins internet. i think she wont mind. i did go all the way to north sydney today to print her portfolio for her. the graduate exhibition is on wednesday and the poor thing wouldve never had time to print it otherwise. but thats what we do in this family, we take care of each other (thanks to oliver i now know for sure that each other is spelled like that - not like this eachother).

while experiencing the utter buredom of north sydney i went and signed up for a medicare card, bought an amazon energy, hung out with the coffee people at the cafe at billy blue and then i rushed home so  i would be home in time for the plumber to arrive at 12. that was now an hour and a half ago. he still have til 3 to show up but anyway. why are they always late?

been working a lot. all days of the weekend. tomorrow. went to the fba boys studio launch on wednesday, then to watch rodrigo play at oxford art factory on thursday night. it was really good - talented boy. then josefin and i had fredagsmys on friday watching amazing buffalo 66 and eating swedish lollies that dear louise sent us. then come saturday anna oliver toby josefin and i went to a mad house party on crown st. amazing. i ruined my top though, my white silk top that i found for 20 dollars on the very same street (not on the street, in a store on crown) and loved wholeheartedly. ive only worn it twice and now its totally ruined. such a shame.

i wonder when our internets going to be installed. i hope its soon. i miss it.

tea time. x

from yurong with love

another two weeks is what i have to wait until i have proper internet back. until then im depending on my little iphone, it does do its job splendidly but how amazing it is to actually have a 15 inch screen staring back at you (im occupying Jo's laptop at the moment while she's getting ready)

the past couple of days has been relaxing and hectic all at once. no billy blue, but work and breakfasts at the commons, hours at the grocery stores, chess at pocket, pool at darlo bar and other random lovelinessess. i'm aware thats not a word. we've also managed to squeeze in two visits at the movies, oliver and i watched new york i love you and then Jo and i saw rocket science. i recommend both, rocket science was so good, so funny.

these days of no billy blue are quite fantastic, there's nothing in the back of my head threatening me not to enjoy myself. i'm free. the only thing thats missing is my little louise. people ask me how i cope without my other half and i just smile and say i do very well on my own. which obviously is a lie. i miss her terribly. i even sent her a little package in the post today, should arrive at the time of her arrival back in sthlm since shes celebrating midsummer in southern sweden. i also sent my dad a little something, a little something that only he likes and no other person understand why he likes them. but he does.

now Jo and myself (soon) are getting ready, we're going out for a bi. it's been nice and warm today - no sun though but still. warm winds.

22.6.10

swedish life day 4

still haven't got used to the time difference, which btw sucks, today i got up at 5.30.. this is however an improvment from my other mornings here in sweden land.
not sure what i'm doing today.. or yes i have to go and get contact lenses which should be a bit of an adventure, or at least some excitment since it includes me getting out of the house and Älta. first iäm going out with my dear dog though.. the sun is actually shining today so it should be good.. i think they said thet it was gonna get up to 22 C today! let's take out our swimming suits! woooooppaaa!

well it's been pretty good so far .. been seeing two of my best freinds celina and anna.. haven't seen them in ages so it was fun to se their pretty little faces again. we went around in the city, i bought some stuff at HM (including a flamingo t-shirt!!).. we got some sun and coffee. so all good. I wont be seeing them again until after midsummer though since we're all going away but we got our crayfish party ahead of us and many more little get-togethers so it should be sweeeeet.

i'm not really in a blogging mood so this post is a bit unnecessary but at least you get to enjoy my little silly thoughts, I do know that you silly australians/swedeish people in Sydney miss me lots and lots so i''m gonna make this post long and full of louise so you don't have to cry yourself to sleep every night.. 15 JULY, keep that in mind.

My favorite thing in my room is my green chair. it's quite an amazing chair. it's green. it's beautiful. and you can sit on it. i'll show you a picture of it sometime in the future. I*m planning to take it out in our little garden and take some photos of it, make it feel special and cared for.
another little creature I like in my swedish room is this little guy!

i'm gonna leave you with that, but i will see and talk to you soon, hopefully.

meatballs for dinner

and we thought we were gonna have our last sleep in neutral bay yesterday but nope, we won't be moving out until tomorrow early - up with the birds, matt's coming over at 7am to help us drive the truck to darlinghurst. today we got up early, went to edgecliff to meet our overly serious real estate agent and sign papers, receive keys and get completely freaked out over how ridiculously careful we need to be with our new house. well we're pretty neat and tidy...usually...so we'll do our best.

then jo went to billy blue for yet another date with him, lou and myself skipped over to forbes and burton for breakfast and oliver, then i went to work after an hour, worked til 5 and then lou oliver and matt came to pick me up with the moving truck they'd rented and off we went to ikea. had meatballs for dinner, bought clothesracks, hangers and i bought a mirror for my new room. i also bought knäckebröd and we all shared some singoalla and marabou chocolate. yum. i tend to eat nonstop these days, soon ill turn into a meatball..mehehe well i decided to start running over the holidays. and a girl at work has a 4,5 months old puppy, maxie, and ill get to babysit him :) they live on castlereagh street so its just near us, just the other side of hyde park so its really really close for me to get to them. yay

then we went back to the city, drop little oliver off and lou matt and myself packed the truck full with our stuff from the apartment. now i just had a hot shower, will go to sleep and up early with the birds once again tomorrow since we decided to start moving at 7am...

now its time to sleep. x

9.6.10

start packing

and my god how tedious it is. what we thought would be well, maybe not fun, but exciting soon proved to be suuuuch a bore. and my god how much stuff (read: shit) we have...well, i guess you do gather up a nice little collection of stuff over a year. we certainly have.

today we had our final presentation + 3 hand ins for this week. now awaits flash. we have a little flash date with michael and garth tomorrow, theyre soo nice for helping us with it. we would most definitely fail if they didnt come to our aid. at least its not due until next thursday so we do have some time for it.

then we're moving on friday/saturday - soooo excited

got to finish what we started over here now.

8.6.10

two down two to go

week from hell update

monday we had our packaging presentations - went okay - we're both kind of struggling with fever and coughs. but all in all good effort. one down.

today we handed in Outfit - our redesign a space publication. went well well well - hd in the making. two down.

tomorrow we're having our big one - the major project presentation - for lissa, nathan and daniel dittmar (whom im secretely in love with)- we're also handing in our research sheets, process books and a2 posters - so tomorrow we have one presentation and three hand-ins.

then this week is over and flash-from-hell week commences. that thing is due next thursday.

THEN SEMESTER 3 IS OVER AND HOLIDAYS ARE HERE.

BUT what's super exciting is that on friday we're meeting the real estater and signing the papers, getting the keys and paying the HUGE amount of money they want to charge us. so on friday/saturday we're moving in on Yurong Street. The actual adress is (if anyone wants to send us packages)

51 Yurong Street
Darlinghurst 2010
NSW Australia

Marcus leaves for la Suéde on saturday and Louise leaves next thursday the little traitor. Well, Josefin and myself are gonna have soo much fun! midsummers eve's party amongst others. But when the little one gets back we're having our housewarming - very exciting. I believe the theme will be mexican - moustaches, sombreros and tequila.

So Matt's helping us with driving the moving truck on friday/saturday - thank god, without him we would probably carry our belongings across harbour bridge.

well, now its time to get back to the presentation for tomorrow, I'm to exhausted to be stressed out and we're spraying Dr Bachs rescue remedy  to calm us down. flower essences are very good.

well well, bye for now.

6.6.10

sweden day

while sitting in school being good students we realized that it is Sweden day today... so happy sweden day sweden!

since it is sweden day.. here's something else with the essence of sweden.

no wonder that we're a bit weird, i like it. i like it alot.

2.6.10

the palace on yurong street

we're moving :) we just got the phone call and we got the house. so on the 12th of june we will live on 51 Yurong Street in darlinghurst. It's perfect! absolutely perfect.

this is what it looks like

x

1.6.10

alley cats

the party last saturday, brigitte's birthday party, had a theme. a most amazing theme - big cats. i dressed up as a leopard in the jumpsuit my sister sent, louise was a snowleopard, oliver and josefin matched very prettily in their tiger cardigans - jo brought on the full zoo theme though with a snoweleopard print dress underneath, asha and the birthday girl herself wore panther suits (all black with ears, asha had a tail too) and face paint. toby dressed up in ten rabbits.

x

30.5.10

histamatic

since lou and i both got iphones the other week we've been looking out for fun apps and we've found the most perfect one. it's called hipstamatic and makes the camera take photos like an analog camera, like a holga. most amazing feature.

see how pretty they come out.

procrastinating

Once again it's been a while since i posted anything, and once again the only time i write on this blog is when i need to think about something other than studying. we've got too much to do, it's ridiculous really, but only two more weeks to go. that's ridiculous as well - it felt like the semester just started. it's been a nice week, had lots to do as well, both of us working too. i love my job - my manager amanda is absolutely amazing, and so is everyone i work with and it's so much fun. it feels great. and i get paid really well..almost 23 dollars an hour and from 4 on saturdays and the whole sunday i get double pay - i get 45 dollar an hour! which is crazy - but crazy good!

this weekend's been lovely. I got my hair cut - finally - on friday. i chopped it all off, my hair's almost above the shoulders now which it hasn't been in ages - a decade probably. but i love it - its so convenient and it flopps prettily when i walk. and it's nice to touch too - win win. then while i was sitting in the stool at toni and guy - lou and jo went to have a look at a house - a house i do think we've got. they've accepted our deposit and applications - we're just waiting for the final call tomorrow. and if all is good - which it should - cause when we talked to the real estater he said that he just needed to check our references and that he was waiting for jo's one to return his call and then it'll be good to go. it says on their website "deposit and application taken" too (which it didn't when he first called) so I do hope and believe that it means that it's ours.

it's in darlinghurst, on 51 yurong st - absolutely perfect location. walk to town hall/train, 3 min from pocket, 5 from thomson st, 5.5 to forbes & burton, chingalings, oxford st, surry hils and everywhere we go. amazing. and just on street off of stanley st - which is darlinghursts restaurant strip. it's absolutely perfect. the four little swedes hwho are moving in will be jo, lou, marcus and myself. a big happy family. it's gonna be a big happy uncrowded house for the first month though since lou and marcus goes back to sweden :( so jo and i are gonna have a huge house to ourselves mehehe

yesterday was not one - but two - birthday parties. first and foremost - Brigitte had her party which was so much fun and absolutely amazing - we baked her cinnamon buns (which weren't absolutely amazing - until Oliver and I joined our master chef heads together once again and baked them in the oven with tim tams) and gave her a lace tote and kinder surprises. she was happy the darling girl. then it was chingalings birthday too - lots of fun. we invited cameron and chrissie to the housewarming we're having the weekend we're moving in, before lou leaves, unfortunately marcus leaves for sweden the day we can access the house :( but we'll throw him a welcome home bash soon as he gets back. i think we might invite frenchie too - mathieu i think his name is - one of the dj's - he's a lot of fun.

lou and i just got back a couple of hours ago, we spent the night at thompson st and i made them breakfast in the morning (it wasn't as appreciated from all people since i woke them up too early) but i couldn't sleep and then lou and i served them breakfast in bed instead which went down a bit better.

well, now i need to keep doing my poster pitch for my major project.

oh, happy mother's day mom's in sweden! x

22.5.10

yellow saturday with the kids

the kids being us, sitting in bed studying. the yellow being the sky outside. its about to start raining again. we've had quite the week, and not a very good one unfortunately, we've had hand ins every day of the week and the one on thursday didn't go to well either. we'd kind of misinterpreted what we had to do but its all good now, we've revised it and sent it off to Mark who thought the new stuff was great - so all good.

we almost got a house too, i say almost, because it was really close. it was only us and one other applicant and the real estater recommended us since Jos already is renting from them. so you'd thought we'd get it. but no, of course it so happens that the landlors is friends with the other applicants. what are the odds? well, no harm done, well find another one. in fact there's two quite promising ones coming up. both have red door. very pretty.

yesterday I worked in the afternoon and then met up with Lou, Oliver, Brigitte, Nadia and went to China Heights for an exhibition opening. We buy your kids amongst others had made screen printed posters, really nice. Toby bought 7 of them to FBA's new studio. I'm jealous, I want to have them too. but maybe we can, since we decided (well, Lou and I) that they're gonna sponsor us so we can stay here. Then we went back to Thomson St, had a ping pong competition cause the favourite siblings just got a free ping pong table - amazing! sweden won, Lou and I beat the hell out of Australia!! no one saw that one coming. First we took down Oliver and Toby, then Brigitte and Nadia, then Garth and Natasha. Then unfortunately Australia stepped up (while filling up our  wine for advantage purposes) in the means of Toby and Michael and won 3 to 2 I think. well, we rocked.

Then we went to Chingalings for a bit of fun. We got invitations to their birthday party on saturday, very exciting, its gonna be a really good night since it happens to be Brigittes birthday that day too. And she's having a party, a zoo-themed party we decided. Lou and I are going as leopards - I'm wearing the leopard jumpsuit my sister sent me and Lou's wearing my snowleopard tights and a black dress. Jos and Oliver are going as tigers with their matching 5-dollar tiger cardigans and Brigitte's gonna be a panther or a puma. I don't know about the others, I think I herad Garth was gonna be a horse. Should be interesting, especially if he does his dance.

Well, tonight Lou and I are watching movies and eating candy, we're gonna rent City of God. Haven't had myskväll since I was in Sweden. So it's time.

x

20.5.10

dear friday, please hurry up.

tomorrow will be fun. I'm gonna go to bed with that in mind...

ps. I love australia. and I love nicoles lovely steamer. I love the "amazon energy" smoothie aand I love fridays.

imagine a picture of a beach (which blogger doesn't want to upload)

some might think that that far country in the corner of the world is warm and exotic... BUt oh no - how wroong you all are.. here's the honest truth never revealed to scandinavians before, : IT IS FREEZING!

i need to buy warm clothes, heaters, warm cozy stuff you have in your bed ... maybe i should buy a winter jacket to sleep in.

ok... enough of that. I bought a Iphone yesterday :) it's very pretty and I found the free version of doddle jump (the best game ever created) - froggy jump- its hilarious, if you were here I would let you play it.. but you're not sooo..maybe another time.

we're still at home, it's 8.28 and we're waiting for some guy who's gonna take some white stuff out of our balcony.. and soo we can't leave for school and be good students just yet...

not much has happened in the palace lately, we been very busy studding and the week (from hell) has begun.. or two days ago.. but we're in the middle of it and it's not a pretty sight. yesterday we had a presentation- for our re-designing of .. our space - the little laneway arnold pl- not sure how it went.. but I do now this: 4 hours of presentations in a room without windows and 40 people and a headache ...not good news.

well, today we have another assignment due.. or at least i think so ..since they've changed the brief approximately 5 times. so we'll just have to wait and see... i'm done though.. so it doesn't really matter.

ok so this was a positive post... but sometimes - when you've had a headache since yesterday day you're allowed to be negative and boring and annoying. hihihihi nicole you're in for a treat! :P

..well not to worry all is out now soooo i'm gonna be the loveliest person on earth today.. because on tursday (at 7) everthing (for this week) is done and we can do something fun this weekend (we buy your kids exhibition thing/poster design at china height) without studying our butts off...

oh well I have no idea what i've just written since i'm a bit groggy after taking 100 vitamins and panadol.. so i'll talk to you soon my friends.

weekend

can't wait

just read through a couple of the last posts and comparing them to just a couple of weeks ago. what happened? what seemed to be days all filled with friends, partying and well, chingalings, has been replaced by billy blue and studying. it's not a welcome change, i must say i preffered april over may. But there's a little holiday waiting around the corner. A whole month of joy! The only little, well big, issue with it is that Lou is leaving me for Sweden. Thank god for Josefin, otherwise i would be all lost.

Who knows how the holidays will turn out, what will I do with all that spare time? Well, sure I will try to work quite a bit but then what? No plans, just fun and sporadic mischiefs. I love it. It's funny how you connect certain words to something, sporadic is such a word. I instantly think of the movie Clueless when Alicia Silverstone explains the meaning of sporadic to Brittany Murphy
That's another thing, Tai. We've got to work on your accent and vocabulary. See, sporadic means once in a while. Try and use it in a sentence today
Anyway, back to holidays and plans. Well, there's none. Maybe someone will come visit, you never know. I just can't wait for this week from hell to be over so I can start to relax again and do something fun!

Yesterday we looked at a house, no go though, it was tiny. So the hunt continues. Then we went to Pocket met up with Oliver, Josefin came by before work for a while too, I was only there for a second though, I'm not feeling very well, sort of feels like I have a fever and a sore throat. After I left the happy two at Pocket I went to the apple store and tried to pursuade myself to buy a cover for my phone, it didn't work, i really don't want one. I did buy a film for the screen though. That has to count for something. Then I bought a pair of ballerinas - mine broke in Melbourne so I threw them away and I need a pair to work in.

Well, that's about how exciting my weekend's been. not very I'm aware. I'm almost ashamed, but I can blame it on Billy and that I'm not feeling well.

So, holidays - please arrive soon!!

the tedious life of two princessess

the height of loserness - we, the students, are sitting in the study area all quiet, our heads facing our laptops - the lecturers however are having some kind of party get together,in their lunch room.  Feels great.

yesterday was a great day, exhausting, but really good. starting off it was my nameday, Linnéa. I got a package from mom with lots of nice things and an incredible leopard jumpsuit from my sister, I'm gonna wear it at Brigitte's birthday party later this month. Then I had my first shift (or training session maybe you'd call it) at my new job - Crabtree & Evelyn. It was so nice, I had the best time and the manager Amanda and the other staff were soo nice. She reminded me of Bridget Jones. I like her. We spent 3 hours going through most of the products, including trying them on. I've never had such soft and nice hands in my life.

Lou was working as well in the morning, then went and had a haircut, looking as beautiful as ever the sweet little thing. After we both finished work and haircuts we met up at Wynyard, went to BB for flash class and then we went to Bondi Junction and Ben who's working at the 3 mobile store there and I got an Iphone. Very exciting. it's my baby. Lou might get one too, her phone is kind of an adventure - it has its days when its actually working and then most days when it lives its own life, which might translate as not working at all  - and she's gone through my old one's that I have here but they've died on her now as well so it might be the right time and it's not that much more expensive, I pay less than 10 dollar more/month for it.

We have a hell of a week ahead with hand ins and presentations on monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday. So this weekend won't be that much fun. But we have each other and we're pretty fun kids so we'll have a blast as always anyway!

mothers day here but not there

I totally forgot, It's mother's day here today but not in Sweden, it's not until May 30th in Sweden. But still, I feel like our mom's should have some appreciation anyway! So this one is for my mom. I miss you and it was really nice to talk to you yesterday!! (dad too, but it's not your day today, sorry, but you're in the photo :))

sunny sunday

It's getting colder here. You can feel winter coming, I love it. I love the cold. But I do complain about it a lot, but that's just because my hands and feet can't take it. They turn blue. Well blueish at least. People seem to think that's weird because I'm a swede, but what can I say, I tend to stick with cold hands warm heart which seems to be a winner.

As I said yesterday the day was spent house hunting and then studying at Pocket. So nice, I had a really nice juice and peppermint tea. Peppermint tea is my favourite tea for the moment. Interesting side note. Lou and I got a whole publication layout done so it was a good day. And I bought them a Kinder Surprise each. Then we skipped over to Thomson St, wishing we lived there, but went past nr 82 til 54 and Ollies house. Well there we made a curry out of everything and anything they had in their fridge. I'd say it was a winner.

Then I went home to be a good girl and study, however  halfway there I changed my mind. I did go home though, to skype with my parents, johanna and talk to my grandmother and then I went back to the city and made a very quick appearance at Chingalings. I was back home at about 00.30 and then my sister called, which was amazing. I haven't spoken to her in ages because she's been working, been in London and now she's in Stockholm because it's her boyfriend Niklas birthday today HAPPY BIRTHDAY I hope you'll have a fantastic day. Kim had some really good news to share, don't know if they're mine to share here so I will when I have her permission.

After we hung up I studied til 3 am. That's a new thing, but I seem to study best at night. Weird. But hey, whatever works. Then I went to bed and now Lou called and woke me up, they're heading to Pocket again for studying but I won't join my favourites I'll just study at home instead. And I have two rolls of 120 film to pick up from the developing, much intriguing. Then, if I'm doing good I'm gonna allow myself to watch Pan's Labyrinth because I haven't seen it yet!

house hunting hunting for houses

today we've looked at two houses. none of which we applied for. their too small for us three silly swedes. BUT we applied for a beautiful terrace in paddington yesterday. words cant describe it. and i'm pretty much certain we wont get it, there were "young professionals" there, even a 60 year old couple - i'd say they win over three 20 year old design students. It's like darling oliver said today "you know you wont get the house when theres young professionals and asians there - they would never throw a good party, they're to nice and neat" well he said something like that and its true. well, who knows, maybe someone (like Hugo) is smiling at us from up above.

weve been getting complaints lately from both continents about our lame blogging. well, we havent had time, weve been busy busy busy. soo much to do at uni that were spending every second awake studying. its starting to get really tiresome.

oh, lotta from berghs came to visit us on thursday! it was so nice, shes soo sweet and fun! we like her a lot. and she came to chingalings with us and loved it. i hope, who wouldnt!

well, i have to go now. skype's calling x

Dear Hugo,
We are your three favorite children, and oliver of course, but he already has a house on Thomson st. We really really really want the house on the address written above - 82 thomson st- it's such an amazing place to the perfect price and in the perfct location. We already feellike we would be truly and genuinely happy there. Not only would we be close to oliver and co but also chinalings, forbes and burton, pocket, kawa and all the other darling places where we spend most of our time. So Hugu, we put our faith in your capable hands.

With love your three silly swede children.

silly boys

today's been another full day of tedious studying. it's coming along though and i feel like i'm back on track which was my goal for this weekend. another goal was to not spend any money, and i succeedes there too, since we have kind of hit rock bottom when it comes to the poor student life. my darling parents has sent me money though, thank god for them. but rents due on friday again. well, let's just hope that crabtree & evelyn wants to give me many shifts, preferably on sundays when i would get almost 40 dollar / hour. did i tell you that i got the job at crabtree & evelyn? don't think i did. not in the qvb store though but at birkenhead point which is a bit outside of the city. suits me fine, gives me a chance to escape with my thoughts on the bus for a while.

i think a little update on the ghostpatrol email is called for. he replied this morning and then we emailed back and forth for a while. this is when i start to feel like i'm stalking him. but really, i just said that i appreciated his talk and his work and he said thank you for my kind thoughts and sorry that the talk was weird. then it so happens that he's coming to sydney, to paint some walls at the foresters in surry hills in the week of may 17th and he said i should come and say hello. so i will. maybe by then we're surry hills residents too. i really hope so. i beg to Hugo to make it happen.

well, now its back to indesign. x

the boys are back in town

after a week of insight and inspiration from some of australias, and the worlds, best hands and minds in the creative industry. Our days have been smacked full with tricks of the trade from about 40 different speakers from different parts of the industry, there's so many I can't name them all but have a look at this impressive list and you'll know what i'm talking about. My brain is a bit fried by now and I have a lot of catching up to do for uni as well as my sleep. I fell in love with Ghostpatrol. He's a Melbourne street artist who does amazing pieces. And he was adorable. I just wrote him an email saying that I really enjoyed what he had to say and that I love his work. If he replies I might suggest that we could get married. Maybe not.

Anyway we had an amazing time in the freezing town of Melbourne. Met Matt's sister Emma, I really like her, and she cooks delicious food. She had us over for dinner one night and I couldn't stop eating. She's swapping careers and is going from, advertising i think?, to be a pastry chef. How cool is that? I want to be a pastry chef too - or a florist. I would love to be a florist actually. On the side of my design career. Emma and her friends live in North Melbourne, in a block that is a converted fire station. So good. We had a look at a house today too. And not any house, THE house. 82 Thomson St. I want to live there so bad. It's ridiculous really, but its perfect and suits us so well. I won't go into detail but we're having a chat with the real estater on monday again, trying to bribe him. No, really we are.

Well, now its saturday night and where am I? I cancelled drinks with a really nice boy so I could catch up on my studies. Loser.

photos will be up from Melbourne as soon as we get them processed.

weekend plans.

i'm so excited

I can't wait til we move into our own little house. I really want to start decorating, moving in to my own little haven with photos on the walls and little bits and pieces from my life everywhere. I kept these sheets of paper, from a3, 300 gsm, recycled from when i was trimming a booklet for uni the other weel, and I think they're gonna work as photoframes. they all have this really nice bleed from the images. It's gonna look so nice. Then we decided to get pets. Fish. Josie already got one, Chilli, but we should all have one each I'd say. I'd rather have a cat or a pup, but that seems like taking it a bit too far. babysteps.

One other thing we need to have though, is bicycles. I want a white one, Lou wants a red or yellow one I think. Josie wants one, don't know which colour. Maybe blue, light blue, or light green. light pastells. she loves light, bleached pastells. I really would like the one I have in Sweden to move down here, its pretty in red with white flowers all over it. I painted it myself when I was 15. Just after I got a vespa for my birthday, my parents must have thought I was mad.

Soon, I'm going to uni, I need to prepare a presentation for our group work. Since Lou Matt and I are not here on tuesday, when the pres is supposed to be held, but in Melbourne we're making it for the others in the group to present. I already have the frameworks for it from the last one we made. And it's the same studio this time, so I can just use those templates. Wee woo. It'll be over before it started.

It's nice and warm here again. If this is fall or winter, then I don't know what to say. It's supposed to be 26 and sunny today, 28 tomorrow. well, Im not complaining - I heard it started snowing in sweden again last week. buhu, I'm never going back.

well, that was all from me this morning. You can probably expect a weekend update on sunday, until then we're fully busy.

do it the virgin way..

I just made a banner. a banner for Virgin.... it's not pretty. I would put it up here if I knew how to do it. But we haven't been taught that yet...

20.4.10

I had a terrible dream last night. another pregnant dream.... but this time I was able to take the pregnant belly off just like a backpack. don't know what this mean.. and I don't think I want to know. well, enough about that.

nicole, the good blogger, already told you about everything worth knowing...so i can tell you all about hte stupid stuff.

oh! something that nicole didn't tell you about : we got a package today. from Sarita, the little lovely girl. She had made a beautiful little package with lovely words, photos, some jewelry and a book for nicole (since it was her birthday not so long ago). and two pink pens. what a nice surprise! and when i got home from school and city and all that what do i find in the mail box but two little letters from our lovely friend Tae Tae! I love letters, more of that - mom, dad?

ok enough is enough.. i wanna go out and try our speed ropes.

(ok I forgot to tell you about hte other stuff)... wll we got two free coffees today, nicole got a free toast aswell, bought a pear and raspberry bread - try it. had class and went home. and there you have it. sorry for being a loser blogger. maybe loserville would be a good name for my room in the new house. well maybe i'll improve.

the art of naming houses and people

It's settled. We've now officially abandoned the boys, sorry darlings, in favour of Josefin to be our new roommate. We do feel a bit bad about it, but the three of us spend all our time together and due to different circumstances, little Josie couldn't longer move in with the peeps she was planning to move in with, so we took her under our wings and decided that she should live with us. So we're splitting up into two groups, one of three girls and one of two boys, since it's impossible to find a place for five. We do hope everyone's happy about this change and that no feelings were hurt in the process. We would so hate that. Met Antonio today though and he seemed happy as always to see us so it doesn't seem like there's any harsh feelings there. Pheew.

So, today we've been looking around for houses and a name for our future house to be. It's leaning towards the kinder egg since it's tagline sums up the three of us - fun, play and surprise. We're one characteristic each - I'm surprise, Lou's play and Josie's fun. Suits us very well. Then we're gonna divide our house into three parts to characterise those characteristics at our epic house warming we're gonna have as soon as the move is reality. And we're making three types of cocktails that gonna represent each of them and having big bowls of kinder eggs. pretty good. Or, we might just name the house loserville since we're kind of silly. But adorable non the less, and a whole lot of fun.

We've got grand plans for the weekend. I write about it now, but in fear of our parents being a bit worried that we only have fun and partying and not studying enough. But we do take our studies seriously. Very serious, always comes first hand. But, we have fun too, so parents, don't worry. Thursday after school we're going to chingalings (of course), then we've promised to make an appearance at Darlo Bar. Then come friday we're going to some warehouse party with the friends we made last weekend at the birthday party, then saturday is going to be spent with them again when the Cooking Club has another date at Thompson St. And on monday we're off to Melbourne and AGideas. very very exciting. Josie might actually come down for one night since its public holidays here due to Anzac day bext week. fingers crossed.

Now, I'm waiting for Lou to finish blogging on her blog for uni so we can go down to the park and try out our new jump ropes, or speed ropes, as it says on the package. very exciting. Toned arms - here we come.

another one came and went

as been said heaps times before, weekends fly by here. well all time flies by here. it's because we're having the time of our lives which is good, but it's also sad since it means our time here is slowly coming to an end. well we still have at least 2 more years or so. but still. anyhow, another weekend has past and is what I'm gonna write about. Thursday was spent in ordinary fashion with class till 7 pm, then ching-a-lings. we then went to Low 302 another bar which we came upon a while ago. Very nice place.
In ordinary fashion we had a great time, met some new people, new friends.

Then friday came, we had groupwork so Lou, Matt, Kristen, Daniel and myself met up at Arnold Place in surry hills which is the space we're re-designing for some phototaking, planning, interviewing and researching at the State Library. Daniel and Kristen did a great job interviewing people and the rest of us dug into the library, the Mitchell Library which is th eold one with micro films and stuff and looked fpr information about the site. In Mitchell Library they still use card slips for when you're looking for things in an library. If you've ever watched Breakfast at Tiffany's. It's the same system here now as it is in that film. It's quite adorable and has some kind of therapeutic sense to it. Don't bother being stressed, it'll take them at least 25 min to go get your book. Then Lou and I made spaghetti bolognese for us, matt and ben and then we watched Let the right on in. beautiful film. creepy. but beautiful. and swedish at that.

Yesterday was also spent studying, but at Forbes and Burton with coffees and laptops instead of card slips and waiting. Lou, Josie and I sat there all day long brainstorming and making monograms and logos. We then had dinner on Josie's rooftop and then we went out. We went to chingalings again, then Low. We met some of the other swedes, hung out with them at chings for a while. Then Josie went home, and Lou and me met up with Matt, Mat and Ben and went to TS and his friends birthday houseparty. It was a fun night all in all. Today we had breakfast in Darlinghurst with Josie since we left all our stuff there yesterday after study session and then we walked in the sunshine and went home. Now we're studying again. Well, soon, after I finsih this post and has hung up my laundry.

weekend recap

we had such a nice weekend, friday was so much fun, we acted parents for Josefin and Fredrik on their graduation - us poor swedish kids with no parents here to attend graduation nights. But thank god we have friends! so we went to NIDA and watched our kids graduate and then Lou, Josie, Nick and I went to our lecturer Lulu's studio The Company We Keep on Oxford St for a little creative get together thing on their rooftop where they showed different artists work, animation and films mainly - so cool. Apparently they'll do it monthly, could be an awesome tradition. we hung out with all these nice people, we had heaps of fun, I found myself a mentor - Pan at Landor. which is kind of amazing, Landor's huge and has offices all over the world. wee hoo. We then went to catch up with the graduates who were hanging out at the Beresford, we then walked down oxford to Low bar (where Pocket bar owner were btw) and then we ran into Garth and his friend and hung out with them for therest of the night. crazy night, so much fun, met so many new people.

The rest of the weekend wasn't that interesting, spent all day and nights studying. We have an assessment due tomorrow, but we're finsihed. I had to re-print one page though since I forgot to put my name on it. Intelligent move.

Now I need to finish my mind map and then its bondi rescue on tv. x

a love // hate relationship

towards Dreamweaver is what we're experiencing right now. Louise is leaning more towards the hate end of it. our websites are due on thursday, we're more or less finished. there's just the matter of it looking the same and working the same way in all web browsers. right now, opera is freaking us out. stupid thing.

anyway, today's been a lovely day as usual in this lovely city we call home. apart from me having a fever or something like that. it's a bit annoying, but both Louise and Kate's been sick lately so i guess it's just fair if I catch something too. well, easter's been heaps of fun! started off with egg hunt and partying at the terrace and then going out on saturday. spent the night at the terrace with our sydney fam, i baked scones to everyone in the morning. (while writing this, i get the feeling i already posted this..hmm...we'll have to wait and see - ok, just checked the blog, and no, i'm all good, haven't written about this before.) then ben and i went over to milsons pt and rented a movie and we all cuddled upp under pillows and dunos in the livingroom in front of the tv and watched movies all day long.

yesterday we studied. studied, studied, studied. like the good girls we are. we made risotto, and we cleaned the whole apartment since the real estate woman came over today, she had a look at our non-working dishwasher and broken bathroom window. i also talked to her about moving out early. seems like it can happen. therefore we're going to an inspection tomorrow and one on saturday. the one on saturday is really good. and in surry hills of course.

today lou worked in the morning, i hung out with the real estate woman, then we went to pocket for lunch with matt and josie and project work, then sat in the state library for ages reading and researching for school work, then we went home and now we're finishing our websites. interesting day. well, ill treat you to some photos of pocket at least. im in love with the owner btw. i think his name i karl. most people already know this, but not all. so now you do. x
