thank god for floor heating

i can't sleep. its 6.56 and i'm wide awake. it's so boring, and i don't have the strength to get up and have breakfast with the family who's all getting ready for work. I could totally go with my sister today though, she's doing some photoshoot. could be a lot of fun. but then i wouldn't get home since she's leaving for stockholm (with half my wardrobe) straight after it.

so i came home yesterday. after the smoothest 24h flight ever. i packed my things during the day on wednesday, sarah, antonio and matt came to see me of sweet things. then we went to the airport, i checked in (this is where the only bump on the road appeared) but i could only get my boardingpass for sydney-bangkok since that flight was with qantas and then bangkok-helsinki, helsinki-gothenburg was operated by finnair. anyway, i didn't think about it. we had coffee..actually, no sarah had coffee i had a bananabread since i realised i more or less hadn't eaten all day. anticipation i guess. and since there's no bananabread in sweden i had to have one.

well onboard i sat down, the plane was full, but i had an isle seat weehoo. good movies were playing, 500 days of summer - soo good, great soundtrack, the time travellers wife, valentino the last emperor, up, latest harry potter and many more. anyway, i had bought sleeping pills, watched 500 days of summer then took one and slept the whole flight through. i woke up when i was given a timtam though. then we came to bangkok, i had one hour until my transfer flight should leave and i didn't have my boardingpass. great, since the checkin counter closes like an hour before takeoff. so i ran around the airport, went through security twice. they all waved at me the second time and laughed at me when i got an electric shock for the second time.

anyway, when i finally found the finnair counter, there was another poor guy there looking for help. i solved the solution by being extremely annoying i guess, and we could finally go to the gate. the other guy seemed rather impressed with my skills since he'd been standing there for half an hour and nothing had happened, then i came and five minutes later we were on our way to the gate, boardingpasses for both coming flights and all.

i slept through the whole second flight as well, woke up for breakfast - so disguting i couldn't eat a thing (sausage, mashed potatoes, gravy and some other weird stuff). when we came to helsinki i was rather fed up with flying and i was desperate for some coffee. but no no, in finland there's no such thing as being lactose intolerant/sensitive or whatever, so i couldn't have any coffee since they didn't have any soymilk. rude. when i landed there was snow on the ground and freezing.

now im home, i can't sleep. at least its after 7 now, iv'e facebooked with some of the sydney family. today they're celebrating louise's birthday with a bbq in ruschcutters bay. i want to be there, apparently i will since louise is drawing my face on a balloon which she's gonna bring with her all night. great idea i must say.

now i have to find something else to keep me occupied for some time. ooh my mum just woke up. coffee time!!

lift off

today's the day. wednesday and i'm leaving a hot hot hot (well, yesterday) sydney for a cold, cold, cold sweden. yesterday was so hot, 38 degrees and air humidity 300%. and i didn't have time for the beach since i had to pack and meet friends since i'm leaving. lou, petra and robin went to the beach in manly though, looking nice and tan now. louise at least, i don't know about the others, haven't met them. but petra is coming over sometime before i leave to say bye bye.

in the evening we went to the terrace, matt, cranley and bens house and had mexican night. sarah was there too. the boys were all dressed up, although ben was the only one actually following the theme (matt was a pirate and cranley a sailor) but still. we didn't dress up. we don't have any props. sad. anyhow, we made chicken enchilladas and they were delicious and then matt had made a cake for louise since its her birthay tomorrow and i wont be here, and i brought the garnishing for it. very pretty. pink as it was for louise with strawberries and korean animals on it (sugar, sugar, sugar in the shape of animals). good night. we spent the last of it sitting on the balcony talking and listening to music while watching the view (romantic). the terrace has the best view, it overlooks the entire harbour, with the bridge, city, opera house and everything.

now i need to finish my packing. ive been pushing it far to long now. im gonna take a taxi around 3 and go straight to the check-in counter. last time i was leaving for sweden i almost, so close, missed the flight. im not gonna be in that position again!

starting

now ive done a little bit of packing. however, im having great troubles actually getting my suitcase out of the wardrobe. me and lou was so happy with how we managed to get them in there we actually never thought about how the hell we were gonna get them out again. thats my problem now.

anyway im only bringing my favourite things, nothing extra or anything. i plan on filling my bags with new things from back home since ive discovered (although i was already pretty aware of this before) that swedish fashion beats the hell out of australian. so i need to fill my wardrobe with clean basic design. i cant wait. and anyway, i dont really need to bring summer clothes to sweden in november. seems a tad stupid if you ask me.

i want a new camera. a holga. toycamera :) all plastic fantastic and everything. it does take beautiful photos, letting light in and everything. oh i love it. i want a red one, or a black one. Josefin has a pink one, adorable, but not really me. she takes great photos too. and theyre cheap. yay! well theres always additional costs, like film and processing the film. but still, and the photos are absoutely wonderful!!!

so after second thought, id rather swap the ice hockey tickets for a holga. theyre almost priced the same. almost. maybe double but still..

a change of plans

so...Im going home. home to sweden. home to winter. BUT im coming back. in fact ill be back on january 1st. im guessing ill be the only one on the plane over NYE but hey, maybe theyll upgrade me to business or first class and spoil me with champagne and strawberries all trip over here. i think they will. and im sure there will be some people there i can party with on the plane. AND im arriving back in sydney in the early morning, 6 am, so there's still plenty of time for me to meet up with my sydney family and celebrate 2010. if im not completely dead that is. but i wont be. i might look dead. dead pale that is, since im coming from the winter wonderland of sweden.

to be honest i kind of miss the cold, cuddling up in a blanket with a cup of tea and cosy socks. its weird really, since i havent had summer this year, almost, its about 30 degrees today, but still. i havent been to the beach properly yet. and i wont be going either, since im leaving on wednesday already.

yesterday was a good day. well actually, friday was so good. lou and myself went to see Paolo Nutini at Enmore Theatre, and my god how good he was. or him and his band. Ive never really listened to him, lou has, so i went along with her, but they were soo good live. and he was absolutely adorable, drunk and he had probably been smoking some too since he had a bit of a focusing problem but he was soo good, his voice is amazing. well, so back to yesterday. first we went to bondi for the markets, i bought lou a bday present since im missing out on her big day, 21st and all, on thursday. i bought us matching necklaces in silver, hers got a disc with and N on it and, surprise, mine is the same but with an L on it. very nice. i also bought a gold bracelet from the seventies. its really cool, i love it. its really slim and has "love" written on it. then we went with sarah and her family to the soccer. Sydney FC played against Wellington and they won. it was great fun, ive missed going to the games, although ice hockey is my favourite :)

thats another thing i just realised with me going back home and all. ill be home over hockey season yay!! and i just saw that theres a home game on thursday, dad want to take me?? please, pretty please :)

so today lou is at work. cheeky little thing got two jobs at once. both in the QVB, oh and btw theyve already put up the christmas tree in there..theyre a bit quick i think. its only november, crazy australians. but its as pretty as always :) and im in a christmas mood, as always :) im gonna do some packing today, and then i might go meet some friends. tomorrow im meeting max and fredrika in manly for a goodbye ice cream at cold rocks, theyve never been there. theyre in for a treat :) im gonna have the coconut icecream with bounty and raspberries i think. yum. then in the evening, im cooking dinner at matts house. were having mexican night, with sombreros and moustaches and everything. good fun. thatll be my bday dinner for lou as well so im gonna bake her a cake.

then my plane leaves on wednesday, not until 6 pm though, so i have heaps of time to do nothing. but i think i need to be there around 4 or so, maybe 3.30. so i need to leave here around 3.3,15 depending on me taking the train or a taxi. id love taking a taxi, since otherwise i have to drag my bags up the milelong hill to military rd, then bus to wynyard, train from wynyard to central, train from central to airport. what a hazzle. but could be fun. well see about that.

so, im just saying goodbye for now. ill be back soon though, and i might keep you updated from sweden. with some lovely wintery picks to keep you all entertained.

long time no see.

we're alive!

surprising one might think. okey, so we haven't updated the blog in ages, and we all know that you follow this blog like a religion so sorry about that.

today is our last day of school. we have our last class today at 3. or it's not really a class we're just getting our marks back. (like every class this week) so really the last day of school was last friday. but anyhow. last official day of school today. i'm excited! the rest of the week has been good so hopefully the best day of the week will not be anything else than perfect.

plus (and it's a big one) . today is the day, the day our eyes will meet the most beautiful eyes in the world: Paolo Nutinis. haha. well hopefully anyway. we're going to his concert, we're in the second dance floor but we'll try to do out best to squeeze in to the first.

ooh i almost forgot. i got two jobs! :) one at the card shop in the QVB and one at Kikki K. very good i must say since my money is pretty much gone. just have to tell them that too.

I walked over the harbor bridge the other day too. i'm gonna start a new feature here on the blog: 'free entertainment of the day'. so free entertainment of the day today: lying in bed listening to spotify. ( i know it's a lame one but that's what we're doing.) nic and I pushed our bed together so now we have a massive bed to spread out in. and all the room! my god! it's amazing how much bigger our room is now. i feel so small.

communicate with you soon!

a long one

so much time has passed since I wrote anything. in my defence, i've been busy, we have so much to do at college. the upcoming week is the last one, well we do have review week after that but it doesn't count as an actual week since we hand in everything now. so, one semester has passed. incredible how fast time flies down here. it must mean we love it and that we're having fun. because we do have lots of fun.

we went out a bit on friday, went to the rag and famish when school finsihed, then went to ching a lings and oxford art factory. then me and sarah went past her work and then home. louise and the boys stayed out for longer and louise brought the boys to the gaff and gay night. i think they were thrilled.

i slept for 4 hours on friday, got up at 7.30 and went to school, started binding my typography book together, it looks great actually. i'm rather proud. i just need to get my a2 poster printed and then that assessment is finished.

i'm so ready for the holidays. i can't wait, not having to study. go to work then come home and not having any obligations. go out whenever i want, go to the beach. not being transparent which is the state my skin is in now.

mom and dad booked their flights down here now. theyll arrive january 5th and stay til january 21st. as soon as i'm finished at bb i'll dive into that and plan where we're going and when. i think it'll be sydney for a few days, then whitsundays and then i really really really want to go to melbourne. and then come back here for the last days and then they'll go back home. kim might come along, i really hope she is. wouldn't be the same without her and since we haven't seen eachother since summer 08 i really miss her. and if she's not coming i'll miss her 25th birthday.

today we've been studying, we went to pocket in darlinghurst and sat there all day. had a delicious brekkie and did do lots of work actually. im really in love with the eastern parts of the city (like everyone else) darlinghurst, surry hills, paddington. why we live here, in neutral bay, is a mystery. i don't even remember our reasons..well it's close to college. but now we have 4 months of non-college so why, oh why did we move here? anyway, it's kind of nice. sometimes.

on tuesday morning two extra persons are moving in with us. max and fredrika. it'll be so nice to see them! and i hope we can show them some fun bits of the city although it is our last week and we hardly have time to breath. but we'll squeeze some entertainment in. anyway, after this week i do have time! heaps, if i don't get a job. but actually i'm booked in to speak with the manager at mimco on george st tomorrow. i handed out som resumes on wednesday and they called me on friday so we'll see what happens there. fingers crossed. it would be so nice if i could work there!

now, i need to finish my presentation for tuesday. i'm kind of freaked out about it. i hate speaking in public. well i do love the attention just not in school.

to be tired

only 3 weeks left of school now. my god! it's seriously insane. the time goes by so fast here.. you wake up certain that it's monday, but no... thursday already. I have to say that our summer break does feel compelling at the moment. we have so much to do, feels like I got it under control though... but then when I think about it... I don't, you can't it's impossible. in 2 weeks all the assignments are due.

a presentation - brand you project, including launching an event, designing a cd cover.
typography book with 4 sections with all we have dine the semester.. and yes - at least 32 pages.
portfolio for symbols and distribution
spreading the symbol over sydney group thingy for symbols and distribution + presentation
flash animation
city branding project

..so you must wonder: why is louise writing on the blog for, why isn't she studying? well, i'm super tired and i'm on a blog break. and someone has keep the world updated on what's happening in the land down under.
so here it comes : it's raining .. or not today, the only day i brought the umbrella, we made sushi the other day and tomorrow i'm gonna print the portfolio for symbols and distri. yes i'm freaking out, i hate printing i always screw up. but not this time though! i'm gonna let that printer know who's the boss.

okey, so not much is happening here... but you just wait.. it's my birthday soon! <3

long-weekend

hey lovely people.

this weekend has been so much fun! we haven't done any school work, but i think we deserved a study free weekend since we haven't got one since we got here. so we got some catching up to do now. might do that tonight. But thats not all weƤre gonna do, we decided, after major sushi cravings from the two princesses of the palace, to make our own sushi yes you heard me - we're gonna make our OWN sushi. i know someties we're just tooooo good to be true. so now you know waht we're eating tonight. check.

you might wonder what we're gonna eat for breakfast tomorrow and yes I can tell you that too: home made scones. mumma!

oh and it looks like that we're gonna move to surry hills later.. (in 8 months) after spending pretty much the whole weekend in that part of town we are hooked.

well thats all. oh no it's not. matt had a housewarming saturday, it was a lot of fun.

peace out.

surry hills

heloooo blog. how are you? good? great.

last night was a fun one. we finished school and because of various reasons not in the best mood. so we decided to go to the rag and famish to have a beer or two. met sarahs friend toby. decided to go out. went out with them in surry hills. very good idea, it was a lot of fun and quite a lot of weird stuff happened. we now love surry hills. lucky that we got 8-9 months to decide if we whant to live there or manly. only time will tell.

oooh we took some photobooth pictures last night too! so much fun, every bar should have a photobooth thingy! so much fun!

oooh! i almost forgot to tell you! i met G Love! but since i wasn't sure what he look like i didn't believe him, but after some research this morning i realized that it actually was him. hahah. well... i think i'm not in the perfect blog mood since this post has turned out to be as interesting as a pile of poop....so i'm just gonna stop now.
